How a Gas + Electric Stove Works

A hybrid stove puts gas burners and an electric cooking zone on one cooktop. Cook on gas when pressure is good. When the gas pressure drops or the cylinder runs out, switch to the electric side and carry on cooking: roti, salan, rice and tea cook the same way, only the fuel changes. For safety, use one fuel at a time.

Gas vs Electric vs Hybrid Stove

How Many Units Does the Electric Side Use?

The electric zone on our hybrid hobs uses about 1.5 units an hour, roughly Rs. 75 – 90 at Rs. 50 – 60 per unit. Most families only switch to electric when gas is short, so the extra bill stays small.
